ABOUT US: Mama & Baba – KAREN & SCOUT
Our story and vision….
Picture this: I was a single lady running a very busy high flying corporate business, for the past 9 years when I started my journey into motherhood, yes, a little later in life ! Good things come to those who are patient and wait right....Absolutely!!
My journey led me to Africa, where I was so blessed with IVF to have some amazing beautiful donors, who we love to call our “African Angels”. They assisted me in my journey to motherhood and are forever in our hearts.
My gorgeous little African cub was born in Australia in 2018, and he and I are so in love, living and loving life to its fullest, every moment counts.
Africa has such a special place in our hearts and of course, anything to support their country, communities, and beautiful people for the most precious gift they have provided me, my son. Still so surreal that I can say I have a son - so totally blessed !
He is my reason for the start up of Scout About. As a mother we all know, life changes and will never be the same, it’s all about him now.
In terms of allowing my little cub to shine, I found it such a challenge sourcing unique pieces of clothing and accessories, especially in large general stores, and quickly moved to searching online, supporting all the amazing smaller "Mum" businesses with their own unique style in goods/accessories and clothing.
My little cub has certainly set himself apart and he is constantly being stopped out in public and receives such beautiful comments on his accessories, clothes and his general styling, the young cub wears it well (proud Mama moment)!
Enter: Scout About our exciting new chapter together.
His name is Scout and it's all About him ! Plus... I did do some pretty determined scouting about to find him in Africa!
Together we’ve loved “scouting about” for unique little finds and pieces of difference from all across the world, he definitely knows what he likes !
We’re now passionate and excited to be able to share some of our very special finds with you and your little ones, especially the items everyone has been asking about and showering us with such lovely comments.
For those that know Scoutie personally, you’ll know he’s known very well for his signature style, his sunnies! Our no 1 favourite product of all time is the sunnies. He wears them every single day and has them in every colour, including pink - boys rock pink !
Our aim is to source high quality products with a strong focus on ethical, sustainable, and organic (where possible), vegan and anything that gives back to our beautiful world for the longevity of all our little one’s futures.
